Audition Information

Membership in the FCCC is by audition. Auditions are open to children with treble voices entering grades 4 through 12. Auditions for the 2011 season are finished. Beginning April, 2012 prospective members may register for an audition by calling 203.414.4292.

For returning members: placement in one of the four choirs of the FCCC is determined after auditions and is based on the following criteria:

  • Musical Aptitude: pitch and rhythmic accuracy
  • Vocal Tone & Technique: posture, breath, tone and diction
  • Work ethic: positive attitude, enthusiasm
  • Ability to read music

Auditions for the 2012-2013 season will be held at the Fairfield Woods Middle School unless otherwise noted.  Auditions are by appointment only and will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. There is a $25 non-refundable registration fee payable at the time of audition, cash or checks only.  Auditions are 5-7 minutes long and will consist of the following: sing “Frere Jacques” (in French or English)  and “America the Beautiful” or “America” (My Country ’tis of Thee).  Song lyrics will be available for you at the rehearsal, you do not have to memorize the songs. You will also be asked to echo a few melodic patterns from the piano.  Singers who read music may be asked to demonstrate their proficiency.  (It will be easy!)
