Our Spring Concert program will feature the music of and an appearance by our Special Guest, Nick Page. Nick is a Boston-based song leader, composer, and author who is dedicated to teaching people of all ages that they are capable of great miracles through the simple yet powerful, act of singing. He will both touch your heart and have you laughing out loud! We are also thrilled to present this program in Fairfield University’s Quick Center for the Arts.

Broadway Concert: Annual Broadway Review!

Our annual Broadway Concert is always popular with a wide audience. We will feature selections from a number of musical productions, such as Guys and Dolls, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, The Little Mermaid and The Wizard of Oz. And of course, this program features many of the best student soloists in the state and our fantastic orchestra!

Winter Concert: Angels Sing!

Our Winter Concert, “Angels Sing,” will feature classic holiday selections, including many which mention angels such as Angels’ Carol, Angels We Have Heard On High, Gesu Bambino and ‘Twas In the Moon of Wintertime. Other highlights include Masters In This Hall, Tottoyo (a new piece from Venezuela), For the Beauty of the Earth, the stunning Ave Maria by Franz Beibl, and many others. And of course, we will have three hundred angelic voices on stage!

The FCCC Chamber Singers will participate in a Gospel Music Festival at Sacred Heart University.

Our selections will be: Bridge Over Troubled Water, This Is the Day, Wanting Memories, Go Where I Send Thee, Total Praise and Praise His Holy Name.

“No tickets are necessary for the Gospel concert on Feb. 25. It will be held on the SHU campus, in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit. The address of SHU is 5151 Park Ave., Fairfield CT 06825—Located just South off the Merritt Parkway at 47. Park in one of two lots around the library to the right, the chapel is behind and between the Main Academic Building and the Library.

A Bernstein Celebration

The Chamber Singers of Fairfield County Children’s Choir will perform
with CT Chamber Singers. FCCC will be joining the Mass and ”Make Our Garden Grow,” by Leonard Bernstein. MASS is a musical theatre work composed by Leonard Bernstein with text by Bernstein and additional text and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. Commissioned by Jacqueline Kennedy, it premiered
on September 8, 1971, conducted by Maurice Peress. The performance was part of the opening of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Originally, Bernstein had intended to compose a traditional Mass, but instead decided on a more innovative form. The work is based on the Tridentine Mass of the Roman Catholic Church.

Although the liturgical passages are sung in Latin, Mass also includes additional texts in English written by Bernstein, Broadway composer Stephen Schwartz, and Paul Simon (who wrote the first quatrain of the trope “Half of the People”).

A concert in Jubilation and Celebration of the 175th Anniversary of the Church.

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Bridgeport in honor of our 175th anniversary is having a holiday concert as a gift to the community featuring the UUCGB choir – David Childs accompanist, with special guests Dr. Joe Utterback, Organ and the Fairfield County Children’s Choir Chamber Singers under the direction of Jon Noyes.
