The renowned Fairfield County Children’s Choir will present their 29th Annual Spring Concert, “Why We Sing,” on Sunday, May 5, at 3 P.M. at The Klein Auditorium, Bridgeport.

The program will feature 300 choristers performing a wide variety of selections which celebrate the joy of singing, such as How Can I Keep from Singing?, Lift Every Voice and Sing, I’m Gonna Sing When the Spirit Says “Sing”, When Children Sing, Where the Music Comes From and Music Down in My Soul.  

In honor of the 200th anniversary of the first performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, the choir will perform Joyful, Joyful from Sister Act 2. Additional highlights include the Spiritual Plenty Good Room, the jazz standard When I Fall in Love, and the great Spanish piece Oye

The FCCC has performed throughout New England (Boston, Cape Cod, Tanglewood, Burlington, Hartford) across New York (Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, Avery Fisher Hall, & West Point), and in many other exciting locations such as New Orleans, San Francisco, Oakland, Hawaii, Colorado, Canada, England, Ireland, Austria and the Czech Republic.

Recent performances include Carmina Burana at Lincoln Center, the Vivaldi Gloria with the Greater Bridgeport Symphony, and two first-place showings at the Golden Gate Choral Festival in San Francisco.
