December 20, 2020 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The Fairfield County Children’s Choir will present our 26th annual Winter Concert, Home for the Holidays, on Sunday, December 20th @ 3 pm. Together but separated, our talented children from 19 local towns will perform an hour-long virtual concert. This will feature festive holiday favorites that will livestream to quarantine bubbles, families, friends, and far-reaching music fans. This virtual musical holiday event combines nods to our traditional concerts and uniquely 2020 experiences. Tickets are $30 per household; everyone is guaranteed a front-row seat.
Home for the Holidays’ program includes:
- Five (!) virtual choirs highlighting our nearly 300 singers’ amazing voices.
- Five live performances from our musically skilled choristers.
- Three sing-alongs of pure holiday fun!
Music Director & Founder Jon Noyes and his team created this concert for those who have made the FCCC’s winter concert a holiday tradition for their families and showcase our singers’ talent, remarkable work, and commitment. “Even though this year has kept us physically apart from one another, our choir adapted and embraced creative solutions to sing as one!” said Noyes. “We hope this concert will connect us in song and spirit.”
“Your ticket purchases will help make this concert a reality and fund future musical opportunities we have planned for this unprecedented season. Funds raised provide the FCCC the ability to keep tuition low and serve under-resourced and underrepresented young musicians with tuition aid,” says Executive Director Sarah Duff. “Concert tickets are a wonderful holiday gift for your family and friends, both near and far.”
This creative concert solution encompasses the musical experience for which the Fairfield County Children’s Choir is best known. Created by conductors Jon Noyes, Lisa Bettke, Jacqueline Sugrue-Tait, and Ashley Zadravecz, who will be live presenters, introducing the songs that have been taught to their students this season during weekly rehearsals.
A few highlights: a trio of our student leaders have collaborated on one of the most beautiful Christmas carols Wexford Carol which they will perform live from St. Thomas Aquinas Church. An incredible high schooler who will sing and play guitar and an unbelievable fourth-grader who composed a piece for this concert, both live from their homes. Talented sisters will share a live performance of a song they wrote. Four siblings, all FCCC choristers, will sing a festive holiday quartet.
